July 15, 2016- Stocks Close Lower Pausing from Recent Gains

Stocks have moved modestly lower over the course of the trading session on Friday after failing to sustain an initial upward move. With the downturn on the day, the Dow and the S&P 500 are pulling back off their record highs. The initial strength on Wall Street was partly in reaction to a report from the Commerce Department showing much stronger than expected retail sales growth in the month of June.
